The people who own the cars
Car Rentals Ltd is a family concern in Qawra. There is no head office in another country, no script, and nobody whose job is to find a reason to charge you at the end.
Listening is most of the job
We have spent many years hiring cars to Maltese customers and to visitors using the islands as a base to explore. What we learned early is simple: the thing people actually want from a rental company is the absence of surprises.
So that is what we built the business around. Truly comprehensive insurance with zero excess. No deductible. No deposit blocked on your card. No creative interpretation of a scratch when you hand the keys back. The price quoted through this website is the price you pay — no more, no less — and every extra, payment and charge appears before you confirm, not after.
Being small is the point. When you call, you reach the family that owns the cars. When something goes wrong on a Sunday, the same people come out.
Four things we won't do
Block your card
With the waiver added, we hold no deposit. Your money stays available for your holiday.
Hide the terms
Every charge is on screen before you confirm. Nothing appears later that you hadn't already seen.
Argue about excess
Zero excess means zero. There is no deductible waiting in a clause further down.
Put you in a queue
One number, answered by us. Usually the same voice you spoke to when you booked.
In the middle of everything, in the north
Our office sits on Fliegu Street in Qawra — a busy stretch of the north coast with a long promenade, a beach, and more restaurants than you could work through in a fortnight. It's within a five-minute walk of most of the large Bugibba and Qawra hotels.
That said, most of our customers never see it. We deliver and collect vehicles anywhere in Malta, including Malta International Airport and the sea terminals, so the car simply meets you where you arrive. You're very welcome to visit us — it's just rarely necessary.
- Malta International Airport — met on arrival, any hour
- Sea Terminal, Valletta and Ċirkewwa Ferry
- Your hotel or apartment, anywhere on the island
A small country with a very long list
Malta is compact enough that nothing is far, and dense enough that there is always something else worth seeing. A car turns a week here from a hotel holiday into an island you actually got to know.
More monuments per square mile than almost anywhere
Neolithic temples, a walled capital built by knights, and a silent former capital on a hilltop.
Some of the best diving in the Mediterranean
Wrecks, caves and visibility that makes the photographs look untrue. The best sites need a boot for your kit.
Short distances
You won't lose a day to driving. Most journeys across the island are under an hour, even with traffic.
Both islands, one car
Take the Ċirkewwa ferry and keep driving. Gozo is slower, greener and worth at least a full day.
Evenings your way
A loud night in Paceville or a quiet dinner in a village square — with a car, you choose after you've eaten.
Come and see what stress-free looks like
We hope you enjoy your stay in Malta — and that the car is the part you never have to think about.
